Robert & Donna Shoemate, 1/3-acre pond @ Saverton, MO

Installed, June 16, 2007
For the complete Photo Gallery

The above is a 1/2 HP Liberator in what is now a "Beautiful" 1/3-Acre Pond.
Note the Superior Windmill on the pond dam installed in 2004.

The Liberator Fountain is a revolutionary aeration system specifically designed for lakes and large ponds. The propeller blades create a whirlwind flow of water to generate maximum surface movement, while creating a beautiful mushroom-shaped water displacement.

There is no other fountain that can provide the aesthetically pleasing display and the aeration power of the Liberator. This system will provide much needed oxygen for fish and allow you to control the amount of immersed and submersed plant life growing throughout your body of water. (Taken from www.TurtleFountains.com website.)

Tom Hurley, owner of Turtle Fountains LLC, says the 1/2 HP aerator will pump 400 gallons per minute to 5 feet high and spread to a diameter of 12 feet.  I think this machine used in conjunction with the windmill that doesn't work well at your sheltered location will be sufficient to do what is needed in your pond.  (Note, the photo is of a 2 H.P. system)

Tom says the fountain is wired with #12 wire.  If we use the 220 Volt unit, you can use #12 wire.  If you use the 110 Volt unit, the wire size from the pond to your electrical source will probably need to be heavier.  (Your electrician will know.)
