COMPRESSOR EXPECTATIONS
FOR DEVELOPING SPECS.
1/4-Mile of Seaway or Breakwater

Compressor must be capable of supplying 3.6 CFM of air escaping from diffusers placed at varying levels from 75 feet deep to 95 feet deep.

The average distance is 1/4 mile

The distance between the diffusers is equal to the depth where any two of them are placed in the 1/4 -mile line.

For 90 feet deep: e.g. 1/4 mile = 1320 feet divided by 90 feet deep/apart ~15 + 1 to start = 16 X 3.6 = 57.6 CFM at (90 X .433) 39 psi.
For 75 feet deep: e.g. 1/4 mile = 1320 feet divided by 75 feet deep/apart ~ 18 +1 to start = 19 X 3.6 = 68.4 CFM at (75 X .433) 33 psi.

Supplier is responsible for the proper specifications and equipment to exchange heat and suppress noise from the operation.  The machines might be housed underground or in buildings above ground.  Lake water might be the right source of coolant, but a closed-loop system with heat exchanger under water will likely be the most maintenance free as opposed to exchanging heat directly with lake-water itself.

-------------

Compressors for a lesser length might be used for Breakwaters of half a quarter mile.
